Nicky’s Reset Rituals |
When life feels overwhelming, Nicky’s first instinct is to seek out the healing power of human touch. “I book in for a treatment of some kind as I find kind human touch is what I need to regulate.” Whether it’s a massage, reflexology, or any nurturing therapy, she knows that gentle connection calms the nervous system and brings her back to centre.
But sometimes, nothing beats a good hug. “Or I hug the crap out of someone to increase my oxytocin and reduce my cortisol.” Science backs her up-hugging and positive touch really do boost oxytocin, the bonding hormone, while helping to lower stress levels.
And when the moment calls for a shift in energy, Nicky turns up the music and has a dance party in the kitchen with her kids. Moving together, laughing, and letting go of seriousness shakes off the stress and reminds her to enjoy the simple magic of being present. |

When Nicky needs to reset, she always returns to the healing power of kind human touch. That’s why Craniosacral Therapy is so close to her heart. This gentle, hands-on approach uses the lightest touch to help your body relax, rebalance, and heal itself. It’s not just about easing tension-it’s about feeling safe, supported, and deeply cared for.
Craniosacral Therapy taps into the body’s natural rhythms and works with the nervous system, helping to melt away stress and bring you back to centre. Many people leave a session feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves. Nicky loves how this therapy honours the body’s wisdom and supports true wellbeing.

Cow-Hide Drum |
When overwhelm strikes, Nicky knows the power of rhythm to reset both body and mind. Whether it’s a quiet drumbeat syncing gently with your heartbeat or adding a lively pulse to a kitchen dance party with the kids, drumming offers a simple yet profound way to release stress and reconnect with joy.
Science shows that drumming lowers stress hormones, boosts the immune system, and promotes feelings of relaxation and happiness. The steady beat helps quiet the racing mind by shifting brainwaves into a calm, meditative state-bringing you fully into the present moment. It’s like a sonic massage for your nervous system, helping to melt away tension and restore balance.
Our hand-crafted shamanic drums are made for exactly this-inviting you to play, express, and ground yourself through rhythm. Whether you’re seeking calm or celebration, the drum is a joyful tool to add to your Toolbelt for Life. |

The Alchemy of Being - Bring Your Soul Joy Playlist - Ignite Your Inner Spark |
When life feels overwhelming, Nicky’s favourite way to reset is to turn up the music and have a dance party in the kitchen with her kids. It’s about shaking off stress, getting present, and letting joy take over-even if just for a song or two. That’s the spirit behind The Alchemy of Being’s “Bring Your Soul to Joy” playlist.
Each track on this playlist has been handpicked by our Alchemists, reflecting the songs that lift us up and get us moving. From infectious beats that make you want to dance, to lyrics that remind you to smile and sing along, every song is chosen with joy in mind.
For Nicky, classics like “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves are a must-songs that instantly spark happiness and bring everyone together. And who can resist the urge to dance when Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” comes on? If you’ve got a tune that never fails to lift your spirits, we’d love to hear it. Let’s build a playlist that helps us all reset, connect, and bring a little more joy into every day. |

In Mirth & Magic, we bring you a dose of levity with a meme, cartoon, or silly video each week, reminding you that laughter is the best medicine and adding a touch of joy to your day. |

The Healing Power of Hugs |
A hug is more than just a gesture, it’s a powerful medicine for the heart and mind. When we embrace, our brains release oxytocin, the 'love hormone', which lowers stress, soothes anxiety, and deepens our sense of connection. Just 20 seconds of hugging can reduce blood pressure and calm the nervous system, helping us feel safe and supported in a sometimes overwhelming world.
Hugs nurture our wellbeing by easing loneliness, boosting mood, and even strengthening the immune system. They remind us that we are not alone, that we are held, seen, and loved.
So, whether it’s a quick squeeze or a long embrace, let’s celebrate the simple magic of a hug and the profound healing it brings. |
